Under the Primary Schools in the 21st Century project (P21), RJCS has been granted a new Library and Multi-Purpose Hall.
Planning and building approval has been granted for the new Library.
The contract has been signed with the builders and now the building is about to start. We are expecting the projects to be completed by late 2010 D.V.
The concrete pad was completed in February and the bricks have arrived on site. The bricklaying will commence this month!
Late last week, the bricklaying commenced at RJCS for the new Library!
Fast progress is being made, see below the updated photos:
At a recent Building C'tee meeting the Rockingham members reported that the bricklaying was almost completed for the RJCS Library. As you can see below, it's looking great!
All the timber and hardware is ready on site for the roof tradies to commence work on the last Saturday of the month. As you can see below the roofies worked hard on Saturday and achieved a fair bit!! Well done to those in the community who helped out with work. It's expected that the Library might be finished around July/August 2010.
At a recent BC meeting it was reported that the roof cover has been completed as well as all the external painting on the exposed timber.
The building has been going quite fast now, see the latest pictures!
A view from each angle of the building with the roof cover on....
The Library is sure coming along, see the latest photos of the plasterboard ceilings that have recently been installed.
Once the ceilings are completed the painting will start and then electrician will come in to do the electrical work.
The RJCS Building C'tee members will organise to supply and hang the doors. The door hardware will also be installed.
The soak wells have already been ordered and the installation will be organised soon.
The Builder is still working towards having the Library completed by late July 2010
Looking good from the inside...
The glass for the windows are in, the lights have been installed and the ceilings have been painted. Early next month the new reverse cycle airconditioning unit will be installed and the new carpets for the Library will be laid.
The Library now has windows!!
