Under the Primary Schools in the 21st Century project (P21), KJCS will be receiving a new Library and Multi-Purpose Hall.
All building licenses have been submitted and council questions have been answered as required.
A check was made at the campus to see that the school complies with current fire regulations for a MPH. Currently there are some discussions being made with the developer of Champion Lakes Estate, the Water Corp and Kelmscott Church to finalise some details in relation to the fire regulations.
Good news, we received the confirmation that the building application has been approved!! Now with the official go ahead, we can start the building process for the Sports Hall at KJCS.
Currenlty, the building application is still pending, but we are hopeful that it will be issued shortly.
At the moment we are still researching a suitbale solution for Kelmscott as the water pressure from the main water source isn't strong enough to comply with standards. We hope to connect to the water mains from the stage 3 development of Champion Lakes. However, we are uncertain of the completion date of stage 3 development.
We've received some 3D images of the KJCS MPH, which gives us a good idea of how the completed building will look.
The Building C'tee (BC) met on 20th April for another meeting and discussed the progress updates on all the Libraries and MPHs.
The Builder reported that the columns and tilt panels are planned to go up in the first week of May for the new KJCS MPH.
It is estimated that the MPH will be completed by the end of 2010.
Good news, late April the FRSA received confirmation that the development of Stage 3, Champion Lakes would be commence within the next few weeks. This means that a connection to the fire hydrant will be possible within the expected time constraint, which also resolves the FRSA's issues to meet fire hyrdrant regulations.
